What are the proper settings to get these two connected to each other ?

It works fine atm with these settings:

WRT54GL (tomato):

Basic -> Network

- Wan/Internet -
Type: Static
IP Address: 192.168.2.2
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.2.1

- Lan -
Router IP: 192.168.1.1
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Static DNS: 192.168.2.1

AM200:
Encapsulation: PPPOA
IP: 192.168.2.1
DHCP: Disabled
Nat: Enabled
Half Bridge: Disabled
DMZ: Enabled to 192.168.1.1

But i'm just wondering the following

Why on the WRT54GL when WAN DHCP is enabled, it can assign the modem a local ip, but cannot resolve WAN ip settings, ie cannot get on the net

Also half bridge doesn't seem to do anything (cannot access net) do i need to disable NAT ?

Ive also had to enable DMZ on the modem as a botched job to allow incoming ports etc to the main router

Is there a proper way to make the modem act as a modem, so it just lets everything through to the router without having to manually enable/disable things, which what i thought half bridge was supposed to do ?

Personally I'd not have it set up how you have with Dual NAT - on both the AM200 and the WRT as Dual NAT can cause some major problems with port forwarding etc for a minor increase in security.

I'd disable NAT on the AM200 and have it just acting effectively as a modem rather than a modem & router in the same way as a cable modem. Just connect the LAN port of the AM200 to the WAN of the WRT as you would do with a cable modem & have it pass through its' public IP to the WRT to leave a single point for your port forwarding etc.

** EDIT **

Been doing some reading & there's a fair few threads about it on the linksys forums. The Bridged Mode Only that the AM200 supports passes all authentication through to the WRT & the WRT being a Cable/DSL router only supports PPPoE rather than the PPPoA that most most ADSL ISPs require.

A useful guide is here
