WRT54GL and DD-WRT

Just a quick question (possibly a silly one), are there any compatibility problems with the Linksys WRT54GL and DD-WRT?

For example, is there a newer version on release that is no longer compatible?

I only ask as a different router (not the wrt54gl) I got my hands on turned out to be a version no longer compatible with this firmware and I don't want to make the same mistake again.

Also, if there's different hardware I should be considering instead of this then feel free to recommend.

Edit: Also, apologies if such things aren't allowed to be asked (not sure if there's a rule or not against flashing hardware with 3rd party firmware)

I prefer Tomato firmware

One more question, does Tomato support wireless bridging? That's the main reason why I'm going with DD-WRT.
