hi

ive posted on here before about the same thing but never really got it solved

i have a wrt54gl cable broadband router with tomato 1.27

i have my pc in port 1

whenever i attempt to connect an ethernet to another spare port i lose my internet to port 1?? (get a no server message display on browser)

im trying to wire up my ps3 but as soon as i put cable into port 2 it lost my internet.

very strange it as if there is a conflict

can anyone help with this

thanks

That's very strange

Have you done a full nvram clear? (it will reset all settings)

Do that, then do a restore factory settings

yes done both

it is strange because the cable i add to port 2 is not even connected up the other end its just as soon as i connect the port end?

linksys said to change these settings under the local area connection? -

In the property box highlight Link speed and duplex/Connection type/Network or Media type
- And in the value box select 10 Mbps half duplex/ 10 base T/10 base half mode and click on ok

just had a thought could it be to do with my windows 7 network profiles???

evertime i get this problem i reset my router but it always uses the same network profile in the network and sharing centre.

Find out what network adaptor it is and get the latest driver for it

Look in device manager and tell me what you see there :)

Nah, I think the network profiles are just used for connecting to say your home network or work network (I think it can save a static IP address for each network), then with Public, it locks down sharing etc

That's not the issue here

ok guys the problems happened again just randomly lost my internet ,went into routers webpage and it still said connected but i went into the logs and i got this log-

Mar 7 03:20:07 unknown daemon.info dnsmasq-dhcp[94]: DHCPACK(br0)

?

anyone know what it could be

thanks

hi again

ive just reconnected my router to the pc and before i did it i made sure i powered down the broadband modem.

once everything was connected i switched the modem and router on and it got a connection.

before i did not bother turning the modem off (do you think this made a difference)

also before i had to always clone my pc mac address in the routers webpage , i have not had to do this now?

do i still need to clone mac address if ive got a connection?

thanks:)
