Need to take car to get MOT'd before selling it. However its not insured at moment. Does anyone know of any cheap day insurance for someone whos 25yrs old. Only find places @ £20+ which seems crazy as its only £25/day for a whole corsa from enterprise!!!

I found the cheapest way was to add second car onto my own policy. If you don't have one then see if you can get a mate to do that or just get them to drive it under DOC cover.

I'll slaughtered for saying this but just drive it there carefully and make sure you don't crash!

Assuming it a not a expensive car etc etc.

I've had police recommend to do a similar thing off the record of cause........just depends if your willing to risk it for 25 quid...........

Only mate who has DOC wording says other car needs own insurance to begin with and my insurance started before I was 25 so wasnt included and wont be until i renew :(

Defo not worth it need my clean licence for work plus would get raped by court for no mot/tax/insurance.

not worth it for £25 pound, get caught driving it without insurance and you get an in10 which most insurance companies dont cover. pay the 25 notes and drive it for the day, get your use out of the money you just spent

I swear I used to pay something like £10 a day a few years back, and im 25 now.

Anyway, £25 is hardly worth crying over, as you will be paying a lot more than that if you get caught with none!

£20 seems fine for day insurance? Many insurance companies would charge more than that for admin costs when making a change on your policy for example.

yup that seems cheap im surprised they dont ant a £15 admin charge on top of the £25.

I got insurance on my dads car 3 years ago for a long weekend and it was very expensive.

I'm in the exact same situation, not becuase I can't be bothered to pay, but they won't cover my car as it always seems to come up as being "too old". Would be more than happy to pay £25 notes to be honest.

Haven't found anywhere that will cover it yet.

Risk a ban for £25? No ta :/

Dayinsure used to be £10 a day for the first 2 days then £5 a day thereafter for Group 1-17 cars.

Now its completely bonkers pricewise.

Isn't it more likley they've adjusted the cost to cover the actual risk. If they were just profiteering then I'd expect someone to come along and undercut them.

im not sure this will work or not and not sure of the terms and conditions

but if you do a hpi check from hpicheck.com aviva give you 7 days free driveaway insurance for £19.99 (plus the hpi check!)

could you not just do this on the mentioned car? they will ask you if you are the owner of the car, which you are.

again not sure of the terms and could be completely illegal so please check :)
