SE C902 phone
free Broadband with 12 months (router and av software)
£35 a month with £10 off for redemption
so total £25 - quite pleased as i was paying £18 p/m for broadband
shame it's 18 months though
thats a cracking deal :O. I'm paying £20 for the simplicity £25 with £5 off.
I want what you havelol.
i just called up and said i wanted to quit when my contract was up and they chucked the works at me, wanted an iphone, but already have an itouch so could not really talk myself around![]()
I've been pondering moving from Orange to O2. They've got much better coverage for where I spend all my time, but I am reluctant to get into an 18 month contract. On the other hand, I do want an iTouch/iPhone.
Burnsy
Deal with it then, find a 12 month contract and settle for a lesser handset. These 18 month minimum contracts are starting to nark me off!!!
When I was shopping for a new contract/handset I found for me at least that over 18months it would be 30pounds cheaper to buy the phone outright and then take a simplicity contract + I'd have the added benefit that I could cancel/change my contract at any time.
Great!!! there goes my option to change my phone every 12 months if I decided to stick with O2 when my contract is up in October![]()
Hold on..................have they scrapped the free double texts aswell?!?!?!!?
I totally disagree that phones aren't "designed" to last that long - quite the opposit.
There seems to certainly be a hardcore mass of people who must have the latest and greatest but really - do you need it?
I used to be the same.
I've owned a mobile for a very long time (Orange were known as Hutchingson Telecom when I joined them) and being on contracts I've always been entitled to "cheap" upgrades every 12 months.
Once upon a time I did this without fail, every year I'd get something new.
Over the years however I've begun to think - why?
All that money spent and really as each new phone arrives it doesn't offer "amazing" over the previous phones.
I haven't swappen my old K800i for ages.
Sure there are some really nice phones out there but I'm just in no hurry.
Add in the fact that the K800i is still going strong all these years later.
O2 won't be the last to stop 12 month contracts.
They were getting fed up really with people getting cut price handsets every 12 months and then selling them on.
I predict in 6-12 months all of the main telcos will be on 18 month contracts for anything half good.
