WTF is going on here then?

So there is no point to ZEN4 then? Better to upgrade now? I was looking at 5800X.

It depends on how long are you willing to wait. If I remember it correctly Zen 4 is not going to come to market this year. 6th series is expected in December but it is not clear what socket it will land on.

AM5 will be mature at least several months after the platform's initial release that should be sometime around Fall 2022, so maybe Spring 2023 as earliest.
I would not look at AM5 before 2024.

Update on the SSHD Drive. I've attached it to my main rig and used Seagate tools to test it and its passed all tests. I've just removed all the partitions as it was a boot drive and formated as a storage drive. I'm running a different surface test now.
It its fine as a simple storage drive then I will keep it.
Other rig is awesome now with SSD installed. It even goes into Sleep mode correctly, and stays in it until properly wakened. When I was using the SSHD as the only drive it wouldn't stay in Sleep mode for more than a couple of seconds. So happy at this point. If the SSHD starts to struggle when writing large files to it, it can go in the bin.

Could have been a bad connection or bad cable. May want to check SMART just in case.
