WTF is wrong with PSN?

Just got the demo downloaded of Super Stardust HD and it looks like fun (took 4 hours to download 255mb thanks to Virgin Media), so I thought I'd buy the game. Only to be met with the same problem I faced when trying to get GT5P from PSN.

After entering all the card details, the thing sits there for a few mins processing the order then returns "This service is undergoing maintanence". I can understand that you need to do maintanence every once in a while but come on, this is now the 7th time(non consecutive) I've tried to get something and failed. The has to be something wrong, but what the hell is it?
 
I am guessing your order is timing out, probably the same reason why you are getting slow speeds. Phone Virgin.

Had a feeling it may be this. I've given up using my internet between 3-11pm, it is slower than 56k most of the time. Downloading the demo of Burnout Paradice. 2Mb line that's not restricted by STM (yet!) and it's getting a whopping 1MB every 2 mins!
 
I'm on Virgin 20mb, and my PS3 is soooo slow for downloads.

Always presumed it was because I was running wireless.
 
Im on Virgin 10Mb and it flies while Downloading, but in my last place on Virgin it was slow, always confused me lol.
 
I am on Virgin Media 20meg download and psn used to be very slow.
But since i got my modem changed to a scientific atlanta it is fast now.
It used to take up to 4 hours to download a game demo.
Now i can download the same size demo in about 1 hour.
In saying that my xbox360 still downloads faster than the ps3.
