Ok so i have this problem(it happened this morning) with headphones. Whenever i plug my steelseries siberia v2 or my second headset tritton 720+ i get sound only from left side but when i plug my iphone earphones or my beats everything is ok. Everything was fine till now. I reinstalled/installed drivers, switched from mono to stereo, tried front and back panel connectors, reinstaled windows i even installed ubuntu and still same ****. So wtf is wrong !? btw soundcard is on mobo gigabyte z77-d3h. Any ideas ?

tried tittons on optical and jacks still the same and steelseries dont have usb
That is the best test though, to try headsets, headphones, speakers, whatever, with other devices. If the problem is present connected to other devices, then it is they that must have the problem.
That's some rotten luck though, for the same fault to develop for two different headsets at the same time with the same issue. Very bizarre!
What about the Tritton's though? Can they be tried with something else? If they only have optical input, that does limit what you can try them with.

Doubt it. You could have full volume and it wouldn't damage them. You'd destroy your hearing before the headset gives out. Besides, the Tritton's use digital connection, so no electrical signal is passed to fry them, even if such a thing were possible. Optical uses light pulses.
