WTF! Live renewal..

Are you serious?

There should be an option whether to auto re-subscribe or not when paying. Also you should be able to cancel your subscription without having to call up MS.

Yes I am serious. Dont agree to anything you dont understand (or cant be arsed to read) and you will have no problems. Same as mobile phone contracts, license agreements etc etc etc
Being ignorant of something is not the same as not being told.
We get people like that at work who say things like "I never got that memo" - yes you did, you just didnt blooming read it!

Though I do see your point, once you have signed up there is no reason why you cannot cancel/switch renewal through either the 360 or the online Billing management screens...buts thats hardly a scamola.

I fail to see the "big deal" with ringing though.
OMG!!!!1111 I need to SPEAK to someone, M$ sux0r!

We don't need to run in circles about not reading the agreement as if you read the thread you'll know I was fully aware of the auto renew feature right from the start. Scratch one point.

There are no valid reasons for not having a "do not auto renew" check box other than Microsoft hoping to catch some people out. I'm not sure why your having a fit and making a big deal about a counter argument to this feature.

sorry how do you go about cancelling it then, because i dont want to renew
I just cancelled mine, got through straight away.

I was asked for an email address, name, address etc and what type of card it was that I used.

WTF? So I agree with your comments and then you post to have a moan about it? And I am the one having the fit. Bizarre.

I was countering the MS are crooks from earlier on and the Oh Noes I have to ring, which was in part not just your post. There where plenty of those

Anyone would think I pooped on your dinner plate or something?
No point in complaining to me about the lack of functionality, go complain to the 360 support team perhaps instead of consistently posting the same thing over and over again where nothing can be done about it.

Woah there. Relax, it's just an internet forum. You agreed with one of my points and attacked the other, so I responded. I think you take this forum lark far too seriously, are you this abrasive to people "in the real world"?

 indeed.

Nope, but then people IRL dont actually type messages to each other which dont always carry the correct emotion/intent/mood.
I wasnt meaning it as a go at you, but you took it as such, so then you had a dig, and I had one back. C'est la vie

Some people on this forum just love to play devils advocate or they possibly have some other reason for it, it's odd when the majority would agree something is wrong, lame, pathetic etc, remember just because they can do it doesn't make it right or acceptable.

What's your argument against having the option not to auto renew the subscription then?

I haven't got an arguement against not having it, it should have one.

But most stuff auto-renews, hell, Blizzard wouldn't let me cancel my account at one time without calling them, for no reason.

I just find it hilarious that people start ranting when it auto-renews when it was right infront of them when they signed up and agreed to it.

I honestly can't believe some people are suggesting the system Microsoft use for Live payment is rubbish  . Honest to god.

FFS, just remembered that my PSU sub will renew today with the exact same thing, completely forgot to ring up MS and cancel it. Not that it would be hard for them to let you just cancel online or something?! Damned thing.
