I've bought (like a mug some may say ;) ) around 10 items off Apple. The other day my card was cloned and thus Natwest have cancelled it.

Not when I try and reinstall some of my apps, apple prompts me for billing information? I don't have my card number yet, so I can't download my apps?

What on Earth?!

And they wonder why piracy is rampant?

Unless I'm missing something?

Should've bought a Blackberry, idiot!

Unless you're talking about a laptop/desktop, in which case you should've bought a Dell.

I should have indeed! I thought the iPad3 would be good for reading the huge quantity of papers ahead of next term.

I like the screen, but I've grown to hate the interface and just how locked down it is.

PDFs/journals? So it's good for that? I'm tempted, as otherwise I'll be printing many, many trees, in the next year!

Give me a week and I'll give you a definitive answer on that. Provisionally I'd say it's nice indeed, but its a bloody expensive PDF reader!

I've got a fair bit of travelling to do, so the ipad is going to see a lot of use in the next week. Remind me and I'll give you a honest description of what I thought about it, and how it handles pdf's both native and scanned. (God I hate scanned documents).

:)

I used the iPad loads in my last year of uni, if all you need is something for reading PDFs and some light typing, it's awesome.

For any serious work you can't beat a laptop, but for reading notes/papers, it's awesome due to the size and weight,

Worst i've owened 10 Apple products thread ever.

Can't answer your question though, i've always had billing information attached to my iTunes account.

Oh well at least its not all buggy and crashes all the time like an android cheep wannabe tab. :D

This. My GF had an iPad for her last year of uni and I don't know how she managed without it tbh. reading PDFs and notes on an iPad is so much easier than on a laptop. She did her essays on a laptop and kept everything synched to dropbox. When she wanted to read an essay back, she'd use the iPad for that.

You can walk around, slouch, lie down, intuitively scroll around and not have to fight with poor viewing angles, aren't tied to a power source etc etc etc.

I'd buy a nexus 7 if I needed something to read a lot of PDFs and journals on.
