Right.

I have an A10 6800k, it has a stock cooler. because I am poor.

HWMonitor, a program recommended to me by a fellow OCuker is telling me that while typing this, Its running at around 100 degrees C.

The software that came with my mobo, its asus, is telling me around 40 - 50 degrees C.

Even though HWMonitor sometimes gives reading that seem about right, i don't believe that its really that hot.

I have no idea what temps are normal, and i may be a little paranoid/ ignorant.

It tells me my CPU temp is -50 degrees, unfortunately that's not true (it's also not +50 degrees). Don't trust all the readings it gives you.

The Asus software will be correct, it's been designed for your hardware.

Try CoreTemp.

HWMonitor and CoreTemp measure CPU temperatures using slightly different methods, so give different readings.

AFAIK HWMonitor's method for measuring CPU temp of AMD's APUs is actually quite good, but I doubt you're running at 100C all the time. See what CoreTemp says. From memory it doesn't give you a per core temperature, just a package temperature, but it should be reasonably accurate.
