I've been using the Windows Technical Preview for months now. This week we changed ISP and in tern the router. Since swapping the router there is now a noticeable delay when Windows hits the desktop before there is internet access. I'm connected via ethernet and previously internet access was instantly available. Google has failed me on this one. Does anyone have any ideas? If it makes any different the ethernet is: Killer e2200 Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.30)

Can't see anything to do with setting it to home. It was listed as public, I've changed it to private and rebooted but no change. I'm used to having net access instantly but since swapping the router it's now delayed.

Is it a case of applications not loading or a case of complete internet outage?

Can you access cmd line during the 'outage'? If so, try pinging your router, 8.8.8.8 and do some name lookups and post your results.

From what I can see it's actually the detection of ethernet. It stays crossed out for ages before finally springing to life. I've just tried reinstalling the driver for it but it hasn't helped.

Fixed it. Oddly it seemed to be the ethernet cable. I'd swapped it out for a longer cat5e one as the new router is in a different place. I plugged the old cat6 cable in and it's back to normal.
