WU #997 good

That's a whole core thought? my benchmark is on half of a single HT core so 380ppd per core beats your 270 :p

And what's the deal with only 3.0 - you on stock cooler or duff board? (slacker :p ) Get yourself a AC 7 pro (or the gigabite 8I955X Pro board in the b-grades only £40!) and wack it up to 3.6 on stock volts. Much more if your lucky.

The 955X (and 975 but that's a waste) chipset boards clock them the best, also need a board and Ram that can do 667 min (most 667 rated will do 800 on slacker timeings).

If your really lucky you'll get a 05B (3.8-4.2) but most are 05A (3.6-3.8) (its writen on chip only not packaging and not priced as an extra)
If you buy locally check all boxes as you can see the chip through the 'window' (worth the extra £10 IMO) - or get a MM seller to tell you code

Need at lease a AC freezer pro 7.

stock volts should get you to 3.6 on either chip type - from their its the luck of the draw.

The Gigabyte board looks good for the price - My 805 is on an Asus P5WD2 prem, so compair the spec's of the two - if simular you should get 3.6 easy.
