WU5765 - 5772 353pts

Just completed one of these - Sanford says I've had a few of these - about 3 to 5 of each but must have been crunched over night as i've not spotted them. Not up to the ppd of the 480pts wu's that are all gone now but best current wu by 20% or more.

only have Fahmon data on the one I've just complete:

Thats a good PPD on your GS. I think i only get around 4600PPD on my GS cards.

This WU is the most extreme example of GT out-performing GS. They are much closer on most other WUs

these can get me nearly 6k ppd on my OC'd 8800gtx

just wish i didnt keep getting 511s

that can drop down to well under 4k close to 3 sometimes!

Thanks for the stats guys - very intersting about the GT and GS... might be worth recomending the GT's now....

Running my GS at 600/1880/950 currently
been upping the memory in small steps over the last few days as it makes a differance on these and the 511pts WU's (had next to no effect on the 480pts wu's)

My Asus 8800GS Top clock so poorly.
2 of them i have running at 600/1775/900
1 runs at just stock as it bombs out if i try and overclock it.

Also have a xfx 8800GS which is a great card. 680/1850/950

should be getting 4800ppd+ with thoses clocks.

But with the shadders at 1775 instead of my 1880 that's where the ppd differance lies.

Have you tried underclocking the core and upping the shaders on the stock asus (or reseating the HS)

Yeah i took out the video card having the problem. Its the 2nd video card in my case. But i just put it back into the same pci-e slot "did not touch the heatsink". I will mess around more and look into it more about overclocking. I now know for sure which card is crap. But the other 2 Asus cards i think will go more. I should find out the max i can push them with out getting any errors while folding, but i think they are very much to the max i can push them on shaders. Will try core and ram next.

I did try underclocking the core + ram and upping the shaders but it did not give me any better results.

The xfx card is great and does do higher PPD then my other 3 cards. I have not seen it get a nice 353 work unit so far.

I know on the 384 units my xfx gets
4100PPD.
The 2 overclocked asus get
3900PPD
the stock clocked asus
3660PPD.

The 353 pointers were great for points. I got over 9000 points in one day on my 285GTX with them, down at around 7500 with the 511 pointers.

Got to be just an underclocked GT with 128MB RAM missing. Mine's at 761/1902/900. I finally got the Zalman cooler working so it's now a quiet card too.....

The 8800GS cards are good.
Have 4 of them in a machine doing from 16k PPD to around 12.5kPPD depending on what work units i get.
Burns about 480watt so that is around 30PPd per watt.

mine at 600/1888/1000 now - taken another 1.5sec of the step time

will be uping the core next
