So, whilst having a shufty around the net, I stumbled upon this game, now I'm wondering whether any you guys have it and play it, and can you give me some insider information?

I tried to download it once and the download button was broken. That's the extent of my experience.

I'd still kinda like to try it though.

I played if for a few weeks earlier in the year with some internet friends on the free server.

Was quite fun, after staying for a few days near a village, 5-6 of us stocked up on supplies loaded up our carts, tethered up our chickens and took a long trek across the island. We found an isolated spot on a peninsula at the edge of a desert so it was all pretty cool starting our own village fresh.

As for the gameplay itself, the whole world/skill/crafting system works really well and is pretty indepth, but because of this it is bloody repetitive doing some tasks and it is a massive time sink. The worst part of the game is the first few days, especially if you are going alone with no one to lend a hand gathering supplies and building a house house etc, food can also be a pain in the ass once the 24hrs of free pie runs out, as you will be surviving on berries unless you really think ahead.

But once you get a basic house up you do feel pretty chuffed with yourself and if you can put together/trade for a fishing rod, getting food becomes a lot easier, making it a lot easier to focus on other things. And speaking of trade, people on the server are generally really friendly and helpful, though there is the occasional idiot. We had one girl with us in our little group and the amount of free stuff she got was crazy (she got given a house!), she seemed to like it but the rest of us were more wanting to survive more or less by ourself. I had to stop playing after a 3-4 weeks as it could be so time consuming if you let it be and I had other stuff to do, and I was beginning to see the limits of the free server (though not that I had really reached them).

So yeah very interesting game, different, kinda fun yet is quite repetitive and can be a massive time sink but if you can grab a friend or two to play with you I'd say its definitely worth playing for at least a week or two.

EDIT: I had a lot of trouble getting it to work on my 4870, had to install an old set of drivers to get it work. Ati cards in general seem to hate the game and I know of a few people for whom the game just would refuse to work regardless of drivers/hardware.
