X-99 memory differences

Running 32gb (4x8gb) of 2133 on my ASUS x-99s motherboard.

I remember reading that different cas ratings made little if any difference on the x99 boards. What about increasing memory frequency from 2133 (listed in spec of my motherboard and old 5820k) to 2400 (listed in spec of new 6850k). Yet 2400 is listed as overclocking in the ASUS manual ? (would it overclock the cpu too ??).

Thanks in advance

I think that's correct in the majority of cases re timings. X99 supports up to 3200 MHZ afaik although to achieve this at BCLK 100Mhz can be an issue. At 125mhz bclk it's pretty easy although technically it is 'overclocking'. My X99 5960X is fine with 3000mhz memory but I can only run it if running 125mhz bclk (that's at 4500Mhz CPU freq although it's fine at stock Mhz).
What I'm saying is you shouldn't have a problem running at 2400mhz or quite a bit faster.
