been looking at these awesome fightsticks in anticipation of SFIV :)

http://www.xgaming.com/two-player.shtml

my question is regarding the necessary adapters to make it work on the PS3... it says on the official site that you need to buy an adapter to convert to PS2, then a PS2 - PS3 adapter (tying up to around £50 :o) - anyway the reason that this is confusing is that the by the time the adapter string has reached the PS3 stage it is a USB connection, which as far as i can tell from what i've read is what comes with the unit as standard anyway

anybody bought one of these know what the story is?

kinda like the look of the official SFIV ones but they're just a bit too expensive for what you get, these babies are better built i would have thought?

(note: looking at the 2 player version cuz i'll mainly play this game with mates and can't have just one person on a stick and one not... just wouldn't be right... so when i said i was looking at the official ones it would be 2 units so twice as much... big $$$)

The Madcatz TE stick uses parts from the SF4 Arcade cabinet so I doubt that one is better built ;)

i have one of these sticks, bought it years ago and its like it is brand new,it uses microswitch stick and buttons thats was used to design to arcade cabinets in the golden age of gaming (70s,80s,early 90s)i bought a ps2 adapter a while back but i did not use it,i only use mine for mame...the difference between this stick and the streetfighter one is probably nothing,it all depends on what you want to use it for.....if you want the ultimate gaming stick in the world go for the slikstick, fully customisable but its very expensive
check out these links
The x arcade is customisable to use with any game whatsoever on the pc as it emulates keyboard buttons of your choice

The x-arcade isnt very good for fighting games, you always read of folk trying to mod them on the street fighter forums. The TE stick is the best stick for fighting games using quality Sanwa parts the premier manufacturer of arcade parts in Japan.

well it does me for mame anyhow:)

when you all say the TE is the best, do you mean the "Street Fighter IV Premium PS3 FightStick Arcade Controller - Tournament Edition"?

if so how do you know its the best they're not out yet are they?

EDIT: done my investigating and I can see you do mean the one i mentioned above, and i gotta say it does look really good...

dilemma though... 2 of these is a hefty price  - can't just get one surely most people agree? unless most people play on their own? for me the fun of this would be getting a few beers in and rounding up the troops for a tourney :)

You could always replace the X-Arcade sticks with 2 Sanwa sticks if you wanted. I like the feel of Happ sticks myself but its all down to personal preference.

naah the more i read the more i wanna go with the TE stick (PS3) - out of interest, being USB could this be used with MAME emulators on the PC?

They are ment to be pc compatible so should work with mame, tell your mates to buy there own sticks :) Or get a te and a cheap hori from the bay :)
