Hi,

please forgive me if this is a dumb question. I'm hoping to soon get an X-Box and LCD monitor.

Assuming the monitor has no speakers, will I have to run the X-Box's audio out through an av amp to get sound?

Any recommendations on a decent set-up?

You'll have to run the audio outs to some sort of powered speaker. YOu could use headphones. You could use a hifi, a boombox or whatever.

If you have a budget for sound in mind then we can help suggest a system but basically it could be a £50 hifi or you could pay £2000 for the amp and so on. Really need to know what kind of budget you have in mind.
I have some creative "itrigue" speakers that came with a breakout box that you can plug other things into such as an mp3 player or xbox/360 which cost around £70 I think, they are pretty good for the money.

My AV system for the 360 is Denon, Rotel, B&W and REL and cost a fair whack.
