X-BOX Controller for PC - Help required.

Have you tried connecting it in bluetooth settings, and have you pressed the pair button on the top side?
Go into bluetooth settings, then press the pair button so the PC can see it, then connect it.

Yes, I pressed the pair button, and then the x button flashed on and off.

I'm out of ideas then.
I've tried my exact same to yours controller and it shows up.
Sorry if this sounds rude, but are you holding down the pair button for a few seconds so it flashes rapidly?

What OS are you trying to connect via? And what style is your Bluetooh antennae - solid motherboard unit? WiFi external antannae? USB module? (In short, are you getting a clear signal? Direct Line of Sight with no obstructions?)

Does your motherboard have the Bluetooth aerials connected? Most I've seen use the WiFi antenna as BT antennas too. Without these the signal may not be strong enough.

W10, came with the mobo but one attenae broke off, pc is under the desk so not the best for getting a connection. It looks like i'm going to have to connect via a USB port.

Does anyone know what cable I could use?

Im thinking this

Also, make sure that you have the xbox accessories app installed as it's needed to do important things like update the controllers firmware (also just FYI connecting it through USB will bork any bluetooth pairing settings on the controller and you'll have to remove it from the list of paired bluetooth devices and pair it again).

No danger of it being paired via Bluetooth, so I've gone with the USB cable. Hopefully that works nicely tommorow.

You can get third party wireless dongles for around £15-20, and the official for £30 if you don't want to deal with the wires.

I use an 8bitdo one and it's flawless, plugged into the USB hub on my keyboard.
