Hi all. I bought an X-Box a few months ago and it came with a rechargeable wireless controller with the clip on USB cable. So you can use it cable free or with cable attached. Can you use this type as a controller on the PC if you keep the cable attached? Or will I have to buy a seperate wired one?

I googled it and was getting 'wired controller' info, but that was quite old. Would be grateful if anyone could let me know definatively if I can or not. Ta.

edit - am asking as I have just scored the PC GTA pack on Steam.

You can't use the play and charge kit to allow you to use it with a PC. To use your wireless controller with a PC you will need to buy a wireless receiver for about £10

I just googled xbox360 wireless controller adaptor pc and noticed one on that auction site for £99.99 with 2 in stock and 157 sold. It is free postage though, lol.

^ i bought one a few weeks ago, i had to find new drivers as the one it came with didnt work but theyre really simple to use and saves buying a wired controller :)
