X-dock. How do I get Win10 to recognise it?

Hi,

If have a CM Storm Trooper PC case.

One of the things that attracted me to it is the X-Dock slot at the top which (should) allow the hot swapping of 2.5" disk drives.

It is a useful feature and I use it a lot for copying and backups etc

However, I have never managed to get windows to recognise a hot-inserted HDD as a "Device"

I have always needed to carry out a full re-boot to get windows to recognise it.

I would have thought that the whole point of this system would be to enable an HDD to be treated in much the same way as a USB memory stick (Or whatever)

How can I get this to work properly?

Does the disk appear in disk management? Worth investigating, might need mounting. Obviously it's a pain to do that every time so try bremen's advice first.
