Moving from an Audigy 2 to a X-Fi but need to decide on which one to get.

What's the difference in all of the X-Fi range available.

X-Fi Xtreme Music.
X-Fi Xtreme Gamer.
X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty.

Whats the difference?

Hi, Just playing games really on a tidy 2.1 system.

Do they all deliver the same performance and specifications? As i was reading through the Creative Labs Website at all the X-Fi Cards and noticed all Specifications where the same except the 64MB memory on the Fatal1ty versions.

LOL! My specifications can be found in my Signature area.

Can you point out which X-Fi to buy from the OcUK Shop please so i have a good idea what one is the best to buy for game playing, music, dvds etc, use my pc for almost everything.

Yup i was aware that there was an X-Fi problem, the P24 BIOS seems to have sorted those issues.

Looking into getting the Creative Labs X-Fi Xtreme Gamer, is this Sound Card exactly the same as the Fatal1ty Professional Version except it has 64MB of RAM.

If so whats the actual difference to the X-Fi Xtreme Gamer as to the X-Fi Elite Pro.

O.K so i'm looking into getting the Creative Labs X-Fi Xtreme Gamer, is this Sound Card exactly the same as the Fatal1ty Professional Version except it has 64MB of RAM and a Front Panel.

That's what i was thinking as i checked side by side the specifications of the three and they where identical except packaging, memory and front panel.

Thanks for all your help you've certainly answered all my querys.

It does appear after some research that the Creative Labs X-Fi XtremeMusic is no different to the XtremeGamer/Fatal1ty apart from the 64MB Memory which aparently is a total waste of time are all the same except the bundles and packaging.

The Creative Labs X-Fi Elite Pro is a little higher specifications than the other models but not a lot more.

So it looks like the Creative Labs XtremeMusic/Gamer sounds like the best deal!

I've always purchased Retail products, always worth that little extra to protect your investment.

Defenitly going for the Creative Labs X-Fi XtremeGamer Retail Version after researching into this.

ha ha ha. What exactly do retail products give you over a OEM? A fancy box? Instructions? Screws.

For most things you don't need OEM, soundcards, hard drives, optical drives, even video cards.

You can save quite a bit of money with OEM products, after all you probably have the cables already and only need the item itself.

Warranty comes to mind!

I'm planning on the XtremeGamer heard and read a few reviews on the Fatal1ty version as the 64MB Ram is a total waste of time and money as it's the same as the other versions.

i was about to splash out on an xtremegamer one myself, but i'm a bit concerned as i have a DFI nforce4 board...any thoughts?

Not all nForce Chipsets have a problem with the X-Fi, just make sure your BIOS is upto date and you shouldn't have a problems. The XtremeGamer is the one i'm now going for looks the best buy of the bunch to be honest.

Been looking through all the X-Fi range now for some time and basically established that they are all identical specifications apart from Two that use the X-Ram component.

I was wondering what Alternative to X-Fi would there be if any?
