x-fi and bf2

hey

in bf2 when i try to set the sound to x-fi, and apply, it says i dont have the hardware installed, so i have to set it to hardware.

i have the latest patch and drivers.

any1 else had this problem?

i have tried reinstalling both game and drivers also

make sure you have it set to game mode i had the same problem and this fixed it

As above make sure you set the sound card into game mode will not work in bf2 otherwise

I must agree with the above, as I had mine set to game mode prior to going into BF2 sound config and it worked first time, although 'ultra high' was red and a couldn't select it, but I exited BF2 totally and when I went back in I was able to select 'ultra high' and its perfect now!
