Looks like support will be added for Linux in mid 2007ish, according to this page:

On the plus side, by the time the card is supported it will 'hopefully' have dropped in price and become an affordable upgrade. It's still a poor showing from Creative though.

I think the Xtreme-Music version is already reasonably priced. It's just as good as all but the very top one, only without the pointless X-RAM, the breakout box or the drive bay.

It is a bummer though. I wish they would just release a bare-bones stereo playback driver without any of the fancy stuff in the mean time.
