hi is there anyway i can get my X-fi card to work on linux?

I don't think Creative has written any drivers or documentation for it yet so I don't believe that they can work. Most onboard audio works though.

my Audigy 2 ZS Platinum works fine in fedora could just be a matter of changing default sound from onboard to sound card

Your X-Fi won't work in Linux, full stop. There isnt any planned support until mid 2007 apparently.

Apparently not, nothing is know about the tech and creative won't release the tech papers on it.

The community could write specatular drivers for X-Fi cards if only Creative would release public documentation. It's just too much to ask for OSS devs to both reverse engineer hardware and software. Creative needs to play along.

^ What he said. It would be a nightmare and not worth their while, considering the amount of people with an X-Fi is probably quite small in comparison to other soundcards too.
