Trying to output sound through a pair of headphones when I don't want to upset the girlfriend. Particularly on BF2 as the shooting upsets her. Problem is, I have no front breakout box on my PC or additional headphone sockets so curently have to reach round the back and exchange plugs in the back.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Was thinking possibly along the lines of enabling the onboard sound card for the sound and using that for say teamspeak, but that wouldn't really help with the game sound and I'd be losing the use of the X-Fi card which would be a shame.

Alternatively, coughing up for the breakout box but Creative want £80 or so which is very steep considering that I could have bought the next model up for an extra £40 - which includes the box. Doh!

Have a Creative X-Fi and Asus A8N Sli Deluxe board if you haven't guessed...
Any suggestions welcom.

Just go to a electronic store and buy a 3.5mm jack splitter(1xmale to 2x female). This is what I have done. They come in 2 varieties either a 'solid unit' about the size of a 'yale' key and the other is like a 'dongle' which is easier to use. Try the OCUK shop / cables they might have some.

Cost about a fiver iirc.
