Hi folks,

I'm thinking of building a new PC with an X-fi sound card and need advice. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to successfully pipe into an X-fi the audio output from a Sky+ box and an Xbox 360? I'm wondering if it might be possible to listen to audio from both boxes in surround sound format via headphones plugged directly into the X-fi card.

Thanks in advance.

If you get a digital I/O thing for the X-Fi (or if you have one of the expensive ones) you can plug the optical from the XBOX360 and (I assume) the digital co-ax from the Sky+ box in and in theory decode it and get 5.1 out the analogue...someone on here has been trying with the 360 and not getting much luck though.

I assume you have some 5.1 headphones? If not just get a phono -> miniplug adapter and use the analogue line-in on the card for stereo sound.
