x-fi differences

Well. I see you have a gaming machine, so don't bother with the Extreme Audio, as it is a cut down version of the X-fi and doesn't include features like EAX5.

So it's between the other two. The only difference is that the xtreme fatality has the breakout box and Xram. Xram is prity much useless and only has a VERY little effect on games that actually support it. The Xtreme Gamer has all the features of most expensive X-Fi cards apart from the two things the fatality version has. If that makes any sense :p

I would go for the Xtreme Gamer unless you need to extra front panel connectors.

The front panel could be handy for when i buy the beyhrdynamic 770Pro's so i ordered that :D

Sorry, that X-Fi doesnt have the front bay!

There is a slight name change to the one which has, Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty.

Give OcUK a phone/email to change your order! The only product that has the I/O panel is the more expensive, Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty 7.1 Champion Series Soundcard.

Creative have changed the products again

Sorry again!

the gamer is basically a low profile version of the music without dd/dts decoders and no connection for the breakout i/o box, as far as i know.

cheers for that

best to get the Music one then

I went for the OEM version of the Gamer card about 3 months ago and got lucky cos was sent the retail boxed one, result.

Am extremely happy with it, massive difference over my old Audigy 1 soundcard.

If the gamer is a cut down Music one, why is it more expensive?

its not

oh your looking at the misic OEM version against the Gamer RETAIL version, so yes

if they were both retail or both OEM, it would be the other way around
