x-fi fatal1ty problems

I just recieved the above card from someone in the MM howvere when i come to install the drivers it says 'no supported sound device connected' so it doesnt install the drivers

So heres the questions, ive unistalled all the drivers that were for my xtreme music card

1. Do i need to attach a floppy power connector to the card if im not going to use the extrenal panel? or should it be the power spilter cable ( didnt recieve)

2. there is a red light showing on the x-fi box attached to the card.

3. windows recognize that a pci device is intsalled so what the hell is going on.

i've just installed mine,

Just plugged the card in, booted up and installed the drivers and its all Aokay

sounds like a dud board poss.

If it was a bad board then surely windows wouldnt even recognizie it?

The card requires no extra power only the PCI slot, the Line Drive (front panel) requires a floppy power connector but that wont stop card working.

Its doubtfull a soundcard will be dead, but hard to say from this end, Creative used to require that you used original driver before upgrading to online ones but this does not seem to be the case nowdays.

Ive taking it out and gave it a good blow, put it back in and seems to be working.

1 more question though, do i need the front panel installed to use the remote?

Yes, you need floppy power connected to Line Drive and the Ribbon connector to get Remote to Control PC.
