Has anyone got one of these kicking about that they could lend or burn me a copy of?

I picked one up for my little LAN build but didn't have the driver CD with it

Typically it uses some kind of obscure driver that is impossible to find (please correct me if I am wrong)

HUGELY appreciative for any help at all

Why do you specifically need an original driver CD? Can't you download the drivers and burn them to a CD, if need be, or just run them from HDD or USB stick?
 
I'd give PAX drivers a go. Just download the PCI ones, they work for all X-Fi PCI cards. Creative drivers are a pain in the butt, having to have the exact driver for each card. Asus aren't a great deal better, having to get the right driver for the right card. The guys who do the modified drivers, make them work across a whole range of cards.

Did the auto updated and second time round it found a completely different xfi platinum fatality card but drivers and all apps work fine

Updated / modded drivers dp look interesting though

up until few months ago I was using the pax drivers for my x-fi fps champion, main as pax driver were win vista and win7 where the creative ones stop after xp/2000. also creative drivers were buggy. the only thing you might find happen is the thx console error might pop up but that simple to fix as you just got to rename two files.
