X-Fi + Gaming = Lag ?

Hi, basically i would like to know if my new X-Fi card can cause any kind of increased ping time for online gaming ?

I got the card and since i installed it my ping has risen which is annoying for me.

When i installed i selected to install everything, but i remember there being an option that was the equivilent of a minimum install. Who used this ?

Any help or info would be greatly appreciated as i am going crazy

Perhaps it's interfereing with a network adapter installed in your machine?

Personally I don't use the creative CD, I just install the drivers from their website.

I have downloaded the newest driver set 41.9mb, but i cannot find how to remove/uninstall the current creative software and drivers.
Any ideas?

a driver cleaner like this should do it for you Link

control panel > System > Hardware > Device manager

then find the card under Sound, "Video and Game controllers"

then change to the driver tab and click uninstall.

or you can use a driver cleaner as posted

I am having sim probs m8, battlefield 2 has gone really laggy going to remove it and go back too onboard sound too see if its related.
