X-fi Line-In not working!

Tried plugging the mic into all the ports in the back of X-fi, internal SC, front socket on case etc, just isnt working at all.
Mic definately works because iv just shoved it into laptop =/
Line-In isnt muted etc, checked that.

Start - Control Panel - Sound - Recording tab -

Right click on the Line-in and then properties, then Levels, move the slider to the right and test.

Or right click on the microphone, then properties, and then click on the custom tab and tick the Microphone +20 dB Boost check box and try again. You can also adjust the Levels on the microphone, moving the slider to the right.

Not sure if XP is the same, as haven't used it in ages.

I can find the +20dB one, its already checked.

I plug my mic into the port on the back of my X-Fi, the blue(?) port I think, though if you have the Green/Orange/Black cable in then there is only 1 port free.

What program you trying to use it with? Teamspeak? Skype?

its just windows sound recorder atm, was planning on eventually putting TS on.
