X-Fi MB2 - Full X-Fi feature set coming to onboard audio

Looks like Creative are going to be bringing some motherboard audio up to full X-Fi standards. That means the full version of CMSS-3D and EAX5.

Interesting that it'll be implemented on Asus Motherboards - might we see a Xonar / X-Fi hybrid soundcard one day?

I think Creative are facing up to the fact that discreet soundcards have become a rather niche market and are moving into OEM supply and technology licencing. Sensible business move IMO.

Well with the way graphics cards and mobo's are going, there's barley any room on most people's rig's to fit a soundcard. 4 graphics cards, 6 monitors, and crappy on-board sound.
