I currently have an Audigy 2zs and wondered whether its worth upgrading. I mainly play music instead of gaming using just the analog out and 2 speakers.

Another option is the M-Audio range?

I moved from an a2zs plat pro to an xfi, the change in sound quality blew me away. :)

Interesting, ive heard reports of people saying the a4 zs is better for music and the X-fi for games. something about the Snr being higher on the zs.

I got both and the XFI is better but I would not say that its all THAT much better...

It depends on your speakers most of the time.

So, if oyu got speakers and you dont think the A2 is all that good then perhaps money might be spent on speakers instead?

I have an Audigy 2 & a set of Creative DTT3500 5.1 Speakers. I was going to upgrade to the X-Fi until I realised that this new Creative card wasn't even compatible with my Creative speakers.

The digital output on the X-Fi is downgraded to only 2.1 sound vs the 5.1 I get from my Audigy 2's digital output. I then realised I couldn't even use analogue connections as the Creative (5.1) speaker set only had 2 analogue inputs. Just pathetic, Creative really ought to point out that this card is not compatible with some of its own products. I think the Inspiron 5700 speaker set also suffers from the same problem. :(

absolutely worth an upgrade

i was using a2zs and just recently received my xfi xtreme music. Really transformed my entertainment, music and games just like most review I read.

Just gone from an Audigy 2 to an X-Fi Fatality and I haven't noticed much difference. The Crystaliser is nice, and I haven't used any new games yet but CoD 2 sounds a bit better.

There is a difference, but it's not that great. I'm using a Yamaha DSP-A592 amp and Tannoy M2 and M3s.

EDIT: After connecting my centre speaker and subwoofer, I can say that this thing is awesome, sounds way better than the audigy.
