As title really, im getting really tired of my Stereo setup and am wanting a bit more depth in my music. I want a more refined sound.

I currently have Creative Stereo speakers, which are the low end cheapo version running on onboard sound, It says Realtek HD Audio which im guessing is just the sound driver.

Should i get X-Fi or Logitech g51 5.1 speakers, im really wanting to experience better sound and have a better sound experience.

as i am really clueless what to get at the moment.

I have an xfi fatal1ty... i find it so much better (for gaming anyway) you hear every little thing

the onboard sound these days is pretty good... so you might not want to spend a LOT on a card since the difference i have noticed while it is brilliant... not always worth the £90 it cost me

Im in same situ, look at my card in sig, Im waiting on the supposed to be new range from Creative.

I need 7.1's mines are cheapo Creative £100 (years ago) 7.1's and the current Gigaworks 7.1 are years old and good for Movies/Gaming but not the best for Music. (so say nearly every review site) and sometime the AMP dies.

I am in need of a new Guitar amp but they are a bit pricey considering i want a valve amp.

But i need new pc speakers. and the trouble is i have my waterpump attatched to my case and im worried that if i get a new soundcard it may not fit because of the pump.

not re routing my tubing :<

A decent pair of stereo speakers / amp will be a big help for music. No point in 5.1 speakers unless you intend to use them for games or movies. Most of the soundcards on the market will be an improvement over onboard.

Using Arcam Alpha 9/Yamaha 590/ B&W 601/B&W CC6/Kef Coda 7 for the PC audio system, sounds great :-)

hehe, ever heard of in one ear out the other :D

i watch a lot of movies and play a lot of games, i wanted a nice amp that would double up as a speaker but the price range is way out, i happy using the one i got atm although its on its way out.
