X-Fi problem?

Hi, I have had my X-Fi replaced once allready for distorted rear channels, anyway I am using Optical atm and I notice on some bass heavy songs slight distortion, hard to notice most of the time but I do notice it.


Also I got it set to 2.1 on the X-Fi and stereo Optical and I am sure I heard some voice still at some points of a song from the rear speakers

Sounds like more of a problem with the speakers, as the X-Fi can only send a stereo signal over optical (unless it was a pre-encoded source like a DVD)

Oh dear I hope the Z5500's aint dieing again

I am listning to some music atm and having to turn the sub up so I cant hear the slight distortion from the speakers

It's more than likely going to be the speakers, have you got any sort of upmix modes enabled (i.e. Pro Logic)?

No was in Stereo.

Yea I think it was the speakers, sold the X-Fi now.
