Since I bought my computer the only item I have been extremely dissatisfied with was the remote control which came with my X-fi. For ages I have mucked around with system files and third party apps but never was I completely satisfied with the results however, today I've finally found what I've been looking for and thought I'd pass it along.
With these two programs;
Autoit3
and
RM-1800 Automation
I managed to program the remote to perform exactly as I want it to.
The only other changes I had to make were;
1) To move the entire Vista Media Centre into the \Program Files\Creative\Sound Blaster X-Fi\Entertainment Centre and rename the ehshell to RCVisual to make the Vista Media Centre load instead of the Creative Equivalent.
2) To disable control of other Windows Applications via the Creative Entertainment Centre Settings.
This allows complete control of Media Centre (or whatever program you want instead) without losing any of the creative controls such as CMSS-3D adjustment.
Hope this is useful to someone else.
