Since I bought my computer the only item I have been extremely dissatisfied with was the remote control which came with my X-fi. For ages I have mucked around with system files and third party apps but never was I completely satisfied with the results however, today I've finally found what I've been looking for and thought I'd pass it along.

With these two programs;

Autoit3
and
RM-1800 Automation

I managed to program the remote to perform exactly as I want it to.

The only other changes I had to make were;

1) To move the entire Vista Media Centre into the \Program Files\Creative\Sound Blaster X-Fi\Entertainment Centre and rename the ehshell to RCVisual to make the Vista Media Centre load instead of the Creative Equivalent.
2) To disable control of other Windows Applications via the Creative Entertainment Centre Settings.

This allows complete control of Media Centre (or whatever program you want instead) without losing any of the creative controls such as CMSS-3D adjustment.

Hope this is useful to someone else.

Antar.

I dont care what you do or dont do m8 :)

The fact remains it does what it is meant to, nothing more nothing less.

If you want to do other things with it you either donate/buy or learn to code.

The $15 Donation is the best Ive spent ever (infact was $10 when I Donated, Ive since gave $25 more by my own choice).

The 1st App you link to takes Donations, and IMO anyone who uses freeware should donate.

The 3rd APP you link to is based on the code for Intelliremote (The APP I use and Donated to)

1st, You can not install or simply disable Creative Remove Software.

I don't know that the 2 App's are above but you do not need them.

Install the software I posted above and config the inc VLC profile (or if its not there get of main site).

The software has came far from above posting and its easier to config now.
