OK, I'm getting tired.

Everytime I start my pc, i have to restart it, about 7 times. Then, when it still wont work (say about, 75% of the time) Ill have to reinstall.

Twice now I've reinstalled it, restarted as prompted, either bluescreened or no sound.

Reinstalled it today, played music for about, 3 hours fine, no problems. BAM, gone. Nothing, no hint of a sound.

I've updated everything I can, somuch so i cant rollback to previous motherboard bios.

I cant really take it back to the place I bought it from can I?

"hi, this doesnt work in my pc"
"ok ill test it"... "it works, cant do anything for you"
"but it doesnt work :/"

Twice it's happened that i've been unable to change modes until I reinstalled the driver. It'd get stuck on Entertainment mode or something and refuse to change to either of the other two.

Otherwise mine has been ok..

Its just I've had exams/LOTS of cwk, i just need to sit here, chill and listen to music while doing work. Silence gives me a headache and makes me feel uneasy :/ Plus a 4hour job to get some sort of sound form it isnt the most ideal situation everynight.

Just buy a M-Audio card, mine works flawlessy (Revolution) and it doesn't have CL bloatware like software. Appanerntly the Revo has superior sound to the X-Fi too.

I didnt spend 60 quid to say "oh well, lets go buy something else"

I'm after my moneys worth

Well if you don't get your money back, then there's not much you can do is there?

It's not faulty per se as in the card is dead, it's just incompatible with board/chipset. CL don't admit it's there fault and blame it on Nvidia (but it has problems on several chipsets) the only solution is to sell it off and buy a proper card.

oh I was serious about taking it off your hands, but I would want to use it for a week prior to paying....I don't want to make your mistake :p

The ironic thing is it worked for about a month perfectly. Then died. No system changes, no software updates, nothing.

I'm gonna take this up with creative, I don't care about their views if it isnt their fault.
A product form them doesn't work in my machine, I have complained :D
Wonder how high up the ranks I'll have to go for an answer though? -.-

They said they wont replace unless hardware is faulty (shall have to check in a diff pc)

Just gave meinstructions on how to remove the software completly (ie, removing it 3 times, with different ways of doing it)

ill give it a try later. Then try formatting :)

Cheers :) A full install wont be possible untill i have the lovely week off college, *maybe later this week* Work load is tooo much. Might back everything up quickly and try later this eve though.

Creative support is truly awful.

I had compatibility problems with by nForce4 board and spent ages dealing with Creative sending and receiving emails. Each time they ran through the same "script" with loads of question completely wasting my time. One technical support guy would read the questions / answers that had been sent to the previous guy, and so on and so on.

Ended up dumping the card and reverting to the Audigy2.

God help me if i EVER touch an audigy 2 again!

Update btw:
Soundcard seems ok. Booted earlier with no sound, but had to reboot anyway and it was fine. I've noticed if i have microphone unmuted, it works next time i turn pc on. I think. will investigate further..

its sat on my bed.

compteitor says "well have it in for testing but probably wont be able to replicate your system, send it back and charge you a testing fee"

and creative are just fobbing me off.

:(
