Both Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer 7.1 Sound Card about month ago installed it worked fine.

Week ago i had to remove it and put in different pci slot and formated my pc and installed windows 64 bit everything worked fine but for some reason computer could not find a sound card(hardware).

Then i installed cd my self but it did not help. When trying to run update for drivers on x-fi updater it says no hardware find.

I tried to put back in other pci slot as it was before installed installed the cd drivers still does not work.

Does anyone know how to fix it ? or should i send back to overclockers?

Thank you for help ;)

You haven't got onboard sound enabled by any chance have you?
Or try checking the device manager list for a pci device with a ? through it, if you find one uninstall it, that happened to me with an xtreme music xfi, if you reboot it should detect it. EDIT: were you using windows x64 before?

how do i check if i have onboard sound enabled well im using now p5k onboard sound as sound blaster does not work.

no i did not use 64 as i did not have 4 gig ram before

sorry for my dummynes don't know much about sound cards

when the pc is booting up hit delete to go to the bios, go to the advanced menu, and there should be an option "onboard device configuration" or something similar, go into that, and the first option is high definition audio, if it is on auto or enabled change it to disabled, hit F10 and save configuration

yep i did that but still computer does not find the sound card.

inserted the cd of drivers pres next to isntal and message pops up:

"Error Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system. Please ensure that your product is properly installed before running this setup program.

Setup will exit.

and the card is perfectly in the place  i think it comes with waranty should i just write note to overclockers? anyone any idea? :(

thank you
