Hi all

I have a X-FI Xxtreme Music Edition, and just wanted to know whats the best settings to use for my games?

Using headphones via my a/v Amplifier

cheers :)

well ive tryed gams on the other settings they just don't sound the same + on game mode makes games run slighty faster it takes some of the stress off ** cpu

what i dont get is why we have to have separate modes at all? maybe there is some design fault or something that stops them doing that. honestly though, whats the point?

I just leave mine in Entertainment mode.

Can't be bothered changing it all the time.

If you're going to leave it in a mode, leave it in Game mode, else you won't get any EAX effects or the rest of the stuff that comes along with it :)

Quite a lot of the time mine automatically changes for me. Booted up the Lost Planet demo earlier and i realised i had forgotten to change it from entertainment mode and after Alt+Tab'ing out it was already in game mode.

Never noticed it do it though other way though, go from game mode to entertainment when i open a movie or mp3. But happens frequently with selected games the other way.

there is a 3rd pary app that auto sets it for you.....
but i've forgotten :D

whats the prob with just flicking open the control panel, setting game mode then opening yer game?

i honestly think that people that can't be bothered to set things before games would be far better with a console.....

i tried audio creation and entertainment mode and neither seem to sound as god as game mode... so i just leave it on that all the time.

Yeh, I find that game mode sounds the best out the box with everything enabled. I Leave it on that all the time.

With a decent set of speakers the difference between game and entertainment mode is enormous
Especially when listening to music

I have a set of Logitech Z-2300 but I can never really crank it up, trouble with living in a flat. My Neighbour has already knocked on my door one night :p

Most of the time I use Logitech headphones, can't say ive had a big play with the settings but just by changing it, the Game mode sounds better on the headphones.

im using medusa 5.1 headphones, surely thats enough to tell the difference between the modes? Game sounds "full" and the other modes sound "hollow"
