Some questions regarding my newly purchased X-Fi...

1) Apparently you can buy an adaptor for the Digital Out jack that goes to an IN/OUT Optical/Coaxial Lead.

- Does this output in 7.1, or sterio?
- Does the X-Fi input 7.1 signals from this?

2) The other 3 jacks. How do these work?

I know the first one splits to FL/FR. I'm guessing one of them splits to TWO channels, the left being the centre, the right being the subwoofer?

If you were connecting speakers directly to these using phono>jack adaptors how would you get a 7.1 setup?

1. Unless you have a compatible Creative speaker set you aren't going to get any more than stereo out of the digital port unless you're playing a DVD (I should really set up an auto response, practically every thread in here has that question in)

2. They work exactly as it says they do in the manual. Mini plug -> phono splitter, front left/right, rear left/right, centre/sub etc. The quickstart guide/manual will show you which plugs to use for what.

3. RTFM!
