X-FI / THX Setup Console - No CD

Managed to somehow lose my X-FI Xtreme Gamer CD and I've checked around and it seems the only place you can get the THX Setup Console is running it from the CD that comes with the X-FI. I searched the Creative forums, and they have download links to ISO images of their original CDs for people that lost their CD's to use. Downloaded the Xtreme Gamer one, ran it and it said that I don't have any compatible hardware so setup exited. Tried to run the THX Setup Console install by itself but produces and error (need to install it via the main setup program, can't do it by itself).

Any other way to get the THX Setup Console? Currently my front speakers are too loud and my rears are too quiet so all I hear in my Quadrophonic setup is my fronts.

What O/S are you running? That ISO is for Vista as far as I know. I'd try uninstalling all drivers and applications, removing your hardware in device manager, rebooting, and running a fresh install from the CD ISO. I use Vista x64 and Xtreme Music - the ISO did the job for me, restoring full functionality after the debacle of the Creative Vista drivers.

Using Vista x64... wonder if I got the wrong one. Can you possibly link to which one you got? I think the filename of the one I got was something like "Creative-XFI-Xtreme-Gamer" or similar.

I had this same problem and it's an absolute pain. Luckily I managed to nick my friends disk, I really don't understand Creatives lack of downloadable software when it is fundamental to get the full functionality of the card.

The x-fi cd is also on filefront i think it's fine it's not illegal as the only people that would need one are x-fi owners after all.

Of course it's not illegal, it's Creative's software

What I can't do though is post the link to where I got it from as the site is probably not tolerated on OcUK, if only because of the pr0n plastered all over it.

Yeah that's where I got the one that was linked from the Creative forums, however it didn't work for me and setup exited saying I didn't have compatible hardware.

Yep, Creative really do suck tremendously for software for their products.
