x-fi titanium mic issues

Just recently put together a new system and now i finally figured out how to change the port to accept the mic, there is a contant hiss in my ear with the mic enabled

Has anyone else had this issue and been able to resolve it?

System details

P5Q-Deluxe (2001 Bios)
X-Fi Titanium Pro
Vista X64 with latest Creative drivers

Yeah turn the mic volume down below default that should do the trick.

Had the same problem with mine. Can't give you an exact solution as I randomly turned down some volume settings and repositioned the wires of my headset so It doesn't make too much contact with any electrical cables and the hissing dissappeared.
