Anyone running the above spec with no problems? Currently I'm running XP 64 and if you have 4 GB ram surround sound doesn't function.

Wondered if this was fixed in Vista?

If not, may well have to jump for another sound card (already waited months for a fix). Any recommendations for a good card that runs well on Vista?

I have a X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty, 4GB RAM and run Vista Ultimate 64.
However, I only use a Logitech 2.1 speaker setup.
I'm not having any sound issues at all - however I am guessing you must be having some kind of issue with a 5.1 or similar speaker configuration?

Thanks for the replies. I found a single comment on the thread about the last 64 Vista Patch from Creative. According to this guy, the 4 GB surround problem has been fixed in the patch (though it has some downsides apparently; SPDIF isn't supported for example).

Will prob give the install a go this weekend if my copy of Vista arrives, then we'll see :)

This is just something the Vista 64bit owners will have to put up with for the first 6 months to a year. The focus for hardware manufacturers is to get the drivers right for the 32bit systems as they are still by far the majority

After that us 64bit users should get some love too :)
