X-fi weirdness

Had this card for a few months now, and when i install the drivers, sometimes it will install properly sometimes it wont, when it does install properly a few days after all of a sudden windows has found a new "multimedia audio controller" and drivers are no where to be seen.

Also on boot up sometimes it shows multimedia device 15 times over

Ideas?

Id be happy if I was even able to install mine

Seems to be a lot of issues with these cards (spent most of weekend reading loads of forums). Do a search mate you will see your far from being alone ....

well i had this sort of problem i've had mine nearly a year then all of a sudden it lost the drivers for some reason, the fix for me was remove the card clean the connector that plugs into the board rebooted and was back to normal. then reinstalled the X-fi drivers
it must have been a contact problem in my case, + its installed in the last pci slot just in case of conflicts.

Might be worth a go.
