X-Fi + Winamp Visualisation

Not sure where to put this. Problem is with software + a sound card. Mods, please move to software if this should be there instead.

Since getting my Xfi, Winamp visualisations (particularily milkdrop) don't move with the music anymore. I've gone into preferences>output and made sure my sound card was specified but have no clue what else to try.

Anyone had this same problem?

It sounds like it can't keep up with the beat of the music. Try lowering it's settings, and use a smaller resolution.

I doubt that's the issue with a C2D at 3.8Ghz.

Do you get the same problem in all the different X-fi modes?

Yeah, considering it worked fine on my old 2100+ and onboard sound, I can't see it being a problem with my new pc.

Mode doesn't make a difference. It's not a huge deal as I only ever use it when I have a party but it'd be nice to have working.

Oh well, I'll keep searching google. Hopefully I'll find an answer somewhere.

Sounds like Windows has become corrupted.
