X-Fi Xtreme Gamer or X-Fi Xtreme Music?

Only difference as far as I know is that the gamer card is physically smaller. Other than that, again, as far as I know they are exactly the same.

EDIT: So what else has changed? The internal connector for attaching the Fatal1ty X-Fi front panel has gone, as has the port on the backplate that allowed the card to connect to an external breakout box. It also sports an Intel HD Audio-compatible front-panel connection on the PCB, so you can use your case's front microphone and headphone sockets.

That pretty much sums it up really. Both exactly the same software wise. Go for the cheapest :)

Going by the link I got in this section to card modders, he lists it as cheapo caps version and to avoid, he recs the Extreme Music which i had until I got a Fatal1ty Champion.

I know Classic Leon that mods the cards/yourpax apps and he tell me the Asian cards are far better parts, they dont need a heatsink on Chip, we got that because of bad silicon, Creative finally publically admited it and said they will refine process and heatsink wont be needed after that, not that I would not fit one as its a good option but its the fact why some need them and some dont.

Well id always recommennd the music over the gamer in any case mainly because of the possibility of adding ther internal or external modulkes to them :)

well this thread answer the exact same question i was going to ask.
I've just set my 7.1 speakers into my P5N32-SLI plus board and well the sound quality isn't great even on a board such as this.

Do you think the x-fi music will do my creative S750's justice? or would it definately be worth spending more?

I noticed far better sound esp bass going from a X-FI (yes one of heatsinked non asian models) to a Fatal1ty Champion, now this must be down to better caps/daps as the 64MB Xram is for gaming (only few support it so far).

In games I noticed no diff as I aint got any that support XRAM but playing music over my 7.1 speakers I DO notice richer sound esp bass from the Fatal1ty + with 3rd party add on I can use the remote and front panel to view my movies in most players but I like VLC outputed to TV. :)
