X-Fi Xtreme Music - OEM

Did I read somewhere that there were some issues with these and certain motherboards? I've tried searching but can't find anything, I'm sure I remember seeing it though, and someone recommending buying the retail

When X-Fi was first released there was a few problems with nforce4 based mobos.As far as i know they solved the problem with a firmware update on the card. The new revisions also have a little heatsink on them.

Muchos gracias.

Also is there anything you get with retail that you don't get with OEM (besides the fancy packaging)? The software CD is the most important thing to me really

I used the retail creative x-fi cd with an edited support.cab file and put that in the Audio\Setup\ folder of the drivers as before this the software on the cd wouldnt find my card :eek:

my card seems to be working ok even though i didnt use an edited cab file.. should i check this out or just leave it? What does the edited file do anyways?
