X-Fi Xtreme Music Problem

I had similar problems with latest Creative drivers / Vista 64 Ultimate / 4 gigs, the static has nearly deafened me a couple of times if I make the mistake of leaving speakers on and volume resets itself to max on reboot. Thats not fun... It also seems to like reseting input device in Skype at random from microphone to something else so you go silent. Will be rolling back as soon as I put my rig back together later but I still cant believe they havent solved these problems after how many months now?
 
I still have god knows how many problems with older drivers, reverted back to onboard till they get their **** together.
