Which pins do i need to use to connect up on the soundcard for the mic and speaker socket that is built in on my pc case to work ? (as the intructions that come with it are very breif and i cant see anything on the creative website)
So that i dont have to keep reaching around the back to unplug my speakers and plug in my headphones !

If i have got the speakers already plugged in the back with a microphone, can i, will i be able to just plug the headphones in on the pc cases headphone port and the soundcard disable the speakers automatically ?

Is the a diagram somewhere that shows the pin names or configurations ?

Hope Someone can help

er ... if you have the fatal1ty there's a hole on the front of the seperate boxy thing that sits in the drive bay marked *spookily enough* with a headphone symbol. Theres also one for the microphone.

Ahh I see, unfortunately I'm not sure of the pin outs on the card itself. Before I got the proper Fatal1ty I used to plug headphones into the control box for my speakers. Try asking on Creatives forums, someone there must know.

Howdy, i am uncertain what connectors are on that specific card, but hey here it goes...

Not sure if either of these two will work, so look at them and see if you wish to actually try it...

http://www.overclock.net/faqs/80893-how-connect-front-panel-x-fi.html - This is for the 10 set of pins...at the back of the card i believe :/

http://img482.imageshack.us/my.php?image=xfifpmodbq5.jpg - That is for the lil white block of pins...again ten pins...Also that actually involves making the cable :/...so i duno.

Hope one of the above works, hopefully the top link is allowed and what not.

It depends how your front panel header is on your case matey :)

If you look at the first link, thats just a set of standard pins i think (Cant say for sure as i've never owned an X-Fi card), meaning if your front panel connectors are all seperate, then you should be able to plug the headers on where about you want...ie the headphone pins, just like the audio header on your motherboard...If it has one obviously :)

But yeah, you "should" be able to buy the Front panel box that you mention, maybe at the auction, not sure if anyone actually sells it as a seperate item itself.
